The Laredo corridor

One crossing. Six named plants.

We treat the Nuevo Laredo bridge as a scheduled step in the run, with our own B-1 drivers on both sides of it.

The load never changes hands at the bridge.

In a common transfer model, freight passes from a Mexican carrier to a transfer driver and then to a long-haul carrier. Our company B-1 drivers cross the load themselves, so the load, the seal and the accountability stay with us through the crossing.

Schematic. Handoffs in a transfer model vary by shipper and crossing.

Four milestones, one cadence.

  1. Loaded

    SHIPPER, MX

Loaded at the shipper in Mexico and sealed. The first update names the unit, the seal and the time of the next message.

  2. At bridge

    NUEVO LAREDO

The company B-1 driver takes the load into the commercial lanes at Nuevo Laredo. An inspection hold is reported with the time it started.

  3. Cleared

    LAREDO, TX

Cleared through US Customs in Laredo and northbound on I-35. The update names the next check-in.

  4. Line-side

    MIDWEST PLANT

Delivered to the plant appointment. The load closes with the seal verified at delivery.
